LSP provided the Design, Supply and installation of climate façade to the new University of Derby complex. The System provided solar protection on three elevations by application of the SolLine Lunar 300 aerofoil with the Airwalk system for access to the glazed façade.

The system provided was on two elevations joined by a 90 degrees mitred return and one stand alone elevation. As indicated opposite the system was supported from a soffit based primary bracket by LSP and then additional brackets to carry the walkway panels. On the stand alone elevation the system was continued to ground level.

The mitred corner detail was engineered such to allow the expansion joint in the main structure to move as required without restriction, this resulted in some large cantilever brackets being designed to take the loads of the solar screen and the walkways.

LSP also provided the mansafe system to the walkway sections for use by the on site utilities. The Vertical Solar Rafters have been produced in full length aluminium flats profiled by Laser Cutting for Accuracy.

LSP in addition to the Brise Soleil provided the louvre system to the energy centre which was a combination of Single, Double and triple bank louvres in required locations. The architectural column detail was also provided and installed by LSP.

The louvre doors both double and single have been installed within the screen for access into each required location independently.
